WHY JOIN OUR ASSOCIATION?
|
why join PENINSULA PHARMACISTS ASSOCIATION?
Dear Pharmacy Professionals,
We are extending this invitation to join PPA and CPhA and become involved with pharmacy at the local and state levels. Why should you become a member?
Opportunity to serve: The Associations provide you the opportunity to serve your profession and give back to the community through our various outreach programs such as Talk with a Pharmacist Day, Smoking Cessation Program, Senior Showcase, and counseling talks at many senior care homes and centers.
Networking: Our monthly C.E. Dinner programs give members the chance to network with their pharmacy colleagues at the same time they are enjoying a delicious dinner and broadening their knowledge and earning C.E. credit.
Newsletter: We publish a monthly newsletter to keep members up to date on current pharmacy issues. If you have been a pharmacist for some time, we need your experience, and if you are a recent graduate, we welcome your new ideas and enthusiasm!
Political influence: We have a very active relationship with legislators at all levels of government and are constantly meeting with them at their local offices and also at their State Capitol offices on Legislative Day to express our (your) concerns. The new Healthcare Reforms offer pharmacists the opportunity to utilize their expertise and broaden their scope of practice. PPA and CPhA are making sure you are represented at the political table on Healthcare Reform and other important areas such as anti-mail order mandate bill which allows patients to opt out of mail order and synchronize the refill process, provider status bill (SB493) that expands the pharmacists scope of practice, bills that allow pharmacists to furnish sterile syringes and Naloxone to patients and/or family members and the bill requiring schools to stock epinephrine auto-injectors so that trained personnel are able to provide emergency care to individuals with severe allergic reaction.
Website: Please visit us at our website at www.peninsularph.org for the latest news in the pharmacy profession.
Sincerely,
Peninsula Pharmacists Association
